DIY Halloween Ladder Decor

Good afternoon!  I seriously had every intention of taking that basket of pumpkins to the attic today and slowly putting away a few Halloween and Fall items and somehow the ex kinder teacher in me came out and this happened!!!!img_4530My A-Frame Display Ladder I purchased a few months ago from Antique Farmhouse has easily become a favorite item in my home that gets moved around quite a bit!  I actually just moved it in my daughter’s new room this week…..shhhh…..I promised her I will move it back in there after Halloween!a-frame-display-ladder_1

This is the ladder in my daughter’s room we are are currently making over and we are planning on adding some fun globe lights too.  I just love it against the diy brick wall my husband installed!  Blog post on that will be coming soon!

I also had this same ladder in my bedroom this summer with mason jars and fresh flowers! I probably should just go ahead and purchase another one because I love it there too and its so fun to change it up with the different seasons!

Alright back to Halloween!  I’ve seen a few different porches on Pinterest with ladders on them and thought the idea was so cool!  My front porch is really small, so I decided to try it on my back porch instead.  I knew I wanted it to have the letters “BOO” going down it so I just searched on Pinterest for printable letters and it led me to DIY Swank’s Free Printable Letters.  Quick, super easy and FREE!!!

I chose to print on Kraft paper cardstock since that’s all I had but really any color cardstock would work great or if I had planned ahead I love the idea of printing on these burlap sheets!!  I also had some leftover burlap garland from one of kiddos’ birthday parties to attach it to the ladder!  I made slits in the cardstock above the letters and placed the burlap garland through it and attached it to the ladder and then added a few spiders and pumpkins and that was it!!

And here it is all put together!  I still plan on trying to fit it on my front porch but its definitely going to be tight!  img_4540

Favorite Spooky Halloween Decor

I’m pretty sure y’all can tell by now that Halloween is one of my family’s favorite holidays to decorate for and it most likely started from some amazing Halloween traditions growing up such as our annual family Halloween Dinner that involves a family costume contest, fun games and challenges, and a spooky delicious dinner filled with the unknown!!!  Here is my family dressed up the past two years!  I probably spend hours coming up with costume ideas and finding all the perfect details, so I am sharing some of those finds with you!  Of course I try to shop thrift stores first but it is always hit or miss so I usually do quite a bit of online shopping as well.img_0823

Now back to my Halloween Decor!  I LOVE shopping after the holiday sales every year with my mom and sisters and really love packing it away, forgetting about what I bought, and unpacking it a year later!!  It actually helps me not go out and spend a ton on new decor each holiday!   I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite Halloween decor deals that I just found this morning, so I am not sure how long they will last….hover over item for a direct link!  Please feel free to message me if there is something in particular you are searching for or if you have any questions!

Now here are a few of my favorite areas in my home to decorate for Halloween!

As you can see, I am loving the black and white Halloween decor and how easy it is to incorporate into my everyday neutral decor such as my Fixer Upper Style Window Frame and my Extra Large Cotton Wreath.  For my DIY Halloween wreath, all I did was place different spiders I’ve collected over the years on the wreath….they just stick right to it!  I then added a Target Dollar Spot sign in the middle!  Quick, easy, and inexpensive!  And seriously you can never have enough moss or little critters!img_4348

Now here is my other favorite area in my home to decorate for the holidays!  My DIY Farmhouse Console Table my sweet hubby built a few months ago!  My lamp and shade that stays out on this table year round is actually on sale right now and listed on my daily deals for today.
